Next Real Model - Winner announced in Sydney!

While shooting an engagement portrait shoot I was suprised when a random domestic cat appeared on the beach. The beach is one place I have never seen a cat and it was humourously out of place.. yet obviously lived nearby! We all stopped to have a pat!

Mo sometimes gets vintage wedding dresses coming through her door as well, so whether you are having a fun Perth party, or a nice quiet Fremantle wedding - Mo has something for everyone.

Patrick Neigal is one of my all time favourite artists.. some similarities to the work of Andy Warhol but Neigal was known in the early 80s until he died young.
His best known work is the album cover of Duran Durans 1983 'Rio' album.
there are Patrick Neigal websites around that showcase a lot of his work.
He would start with a photograph of a woman, and piece by piece remove the little details until the key details that made the face were left behind in a statement fashion.

I adore the work of Patrick Neigal... and here is a piece I worked on tonight.

Barbie... and me

Anyone who knows me knows that I love.. BARBIE.
I have one of Australias largest collections including many vintage from the early 60s (unfortunately I don't have a 1959 model.. yet!)
So myself and makeup artist Irene took it upon ourselves to do a Barbie themed shoot with Irene.. I have a 'Solo in the Spotlight' outfit for myself as well as the 1963 barbie outfit and doll, so we ummed and aah'd - but after glimpsing through one of my Barbie encyclopedias - makeup artist Irene decided that we would do 'My First Barbie' 1989 edition...
Of course since humans don't have navy pupils (barbie very rarely has black ones) - and purple iris - it was essential to do some post work on the image. :)

Teddy and Tashee were my Mummys special companions and since she passed away last year they live with me! And they are getting red carpet treatment!
Tashee is the lighter colored cat.. and she's not as comfortable with the camera as Teddy.. but you can see that Teddy just craves the attention.. and will perform so long as he is the object of everyones affections :)

So whilst shooting this extreme makeup shoot with makeup artist Tara Mckneil.. the girls were more than happy to have some snapshots with Teddy!

From dust to dust returns.. Farewell to the Pines

As I arrived today at the Kings Park pines, with Snow White in toe.. I was greeted with loggers.. Taking down the Pines.. which have apparently been dead from disease for a while. 'Caution' barricade tape surrounded the whole plantation, and I spoke with the city council officer who confirmed that every last tree was to come down.
I took some photos, around 1.30pm and then returned around 6pm to take a few more. You can see how many more trees disappeared between the 2 shoots. I want to go back tommorow afternoon and take some shots of the last of it... so sad.. but unavoidable.
The pines has been a long standing favourite shoot location amongst Perth wedding photographers, as well as portrait photographers and nature enthusiasts.
A site to truley bring a tear to you eye.
Sometimes I find myself pondering the sadness of life.. everything that breathes.. must at some point die...

Today I made a tragic discovery.. as I arrived at the Kings Park Pines to photograph snow white in the woods.. I arrived in the middle of a demolition... I will post more about this in my next post (which should arrive above shortly) but here are some photos from what I guess will not have been my last ever shoot at the pines..

Katie & Shane were married in Mandurah on the 27th of March. I was actually their videographer, see my blog at http://www.skyscottvideography.com.au/ for Katie and Shanes highlight and prep videos, however I took a few of these happy snaps during the photoshoot. The Mandurah photographer had the bridal party posing along some lovely pilllars.. which were located right in front of the Reading cinemas.. so it was cruel for the bridal party to smell the yummy popcorn without getting them some!
